Know why?
Because I'm seriously considering running for 13 miles non-stop. It's insane, and yet, the temptation is so real, just to say "Yeah, I ran a half marathon." Yep, half and half only. I've not totally lost it. This is just a moment of temporary insanity. And one that I am completely committed to--I think. (That doesn't sound complete, does it.) Anyway, if anyone has any advice, post away! I'm going to need it!

Go for it, Summer! I'm sure Krista has great advice on training. I couldn't help at all....I hate to run probably more than anything, unless it is part of playing a sport or something. But, just to run...no thanks! All the power to you though:)
I totally want to do it with you!
Do it, Summer! I was pleasantly surprised that I loved all of it. The training, the talking, the actual run was so calming. Just loved it. When is the run? I really think that Dave should take the kids and I should fly out and do it with you. Yeah, that will be no problem at all...
FYI, you can totally do this! I remember you running in college. Think about it, if I can do it (an old, fat, never ran before except after a sporting ball), then you can do it without blinking!
You will not regret running it! I did 3 out in Baltimore and love all of them. Train with friends, run the race with friends and you'll do great! Your only long day should be Saturdays so don't fret!
Thanks for the encouragement ladies! It's rather a scary commitment. The run is in October. Yeah, come run it with me! Lisa, how was the trip? I'm glad to see you're online already! Kris, whatever about the fat thing! It is encouraging to know that so many of you are doing this and doing it well! And Becky, come with me! We can both be crazy together!
It's an awesome experience and definately partner with Becky because she is so supportive and positive! I am jealous I can't be there to run it with you guys!
I've been wanting to do this one for the last 2 years... need a training buddy? Count me in!
I said the same thing as you after my first one. 2 years later, here I am training for the full! Honestly though, the Baltimore Half is a great course and you will have a ton of fun. Hop on over to owingsmillsrunners.blogspot.com to help you get started. About 2 months before the Baltimore Half I'll start putting up training schedules. Build a base now by consistently running a few times a week.
DO IT!! YOU will have so much fun.. I loved the Baltimore half. It is so much fun.
